Illuminated Manuscripts: Essays
From reading: Illuminated Manuscripts Styles of Illuminated Manuscripts This reading was great for a bit of info on the differing styles. I really like the old styled insular manuscrpits. Here is a link for a site with some pretty examples: http://www.discovery.mala.bc.ca/web/sugiurat/project.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From reading: Illuminated Manuscripts Types of Illuminated Manuscripts I was suprised by how these types of manuscripts - had images or graphics within them. Like the early bibles. I did a bit of Beastiary reasearch http://www.abdn.ac.uk/bestiary/comment/15vleocrota.hti and came across the Aberdeen Beastiary. I love the idea of a collection of books or even pages dedicated to the fantasies of monsters and beasts.
